FOUR CATEGORIES OF MEASURES -

1. STRUCTURE MEASURES - These are measures to assess the infrastructure capacity and system in hospital s . These measures give patients high quality health care by assessing health care providers capacity system and processes. It reflects the environment in which hospital operate . For Example - whether thehospital participates in a Cardiac Surgery Registry or uses a safe surgery checklist , whether the hospital are using EHR electronic medical records of it's patients.

2. PROCESS MEASURES - Most of health care quality measures used for public reporting are process measures. It informs people about medical care facilities that they expect in hospital for a given condition or disease. It also indicate what providers takes steps to maintain Improve health care . It generally reflects accepted recommendations for clinical practice. For Example -.
