JIT manufacturing meas just in time.principal of JIT is originally referred to manufacturing of goods to meet the customer demand ,in time ,qaulity and quantity,whether the customer is final purchaser of the product.

it has now come to mean producing with minimum waste.waste is taken in its most general sense and includes time and resources as well as material.

importants elements of JIT -

• attracking fundamental problem.
• preventative maintenance ,total productive maintenance ensuring machinery and equipment function perfectly when it ias required.
• striving for simplicity.

elimination of waste-

• waste from overproduction.
• waste of waiting time.
• trasportation waste.
• waste from defects.
• inventory waste.

introduction of kanbans

use of TQM practices will improve JIT performance throught process variance reduction and reduced rework time and that JIT practices will improve quality performance throught problems exposures and improved process feedback.
