Becoming a PA allows focus on extensive clinical training and be ready to see patients fairly independantly in a matter of two years. Becoming a PA also means dont have to spend four years in a class room before moving on to the next phase of training.
PA can examine patients order diagnostic tests perform certain procedures and order tratment .They can also educate patients and involved in preventive medicine But they do it at less of a cost that medical doctors which benefits patients annd the entire health care system. The shortage of primary care doctors are occuring gobaly one means of meeting this demand has been the use of physician assistant introducea in the US .PA also can perform complementary roles in which they substitute for physicians for particuular tasks, For example they may be responsibel for providing acute or preventive care to the population served by the provider team.
Evidencce suggest that PA can substituute for physiciians on a wide range of patient care tasks suppotig the contention that PAs have significant role flexibility. However few empirical studies have evaluated the relationship between the role of the PA within the provider team and otcomes.
