This week, we are learning about categorical logic.
CATEGORICAL PROPOSITIIN:
Categorical proposition or categorical statement is a proposition that asserts or denies that all or some of the members of one category are included in another.
Categorical proposition can be categorized into four types of their quality and quantity. Categorical proposition are four types -----
• All s are p ( A form)
• No s are p (E form )
• Some s are p ( I form)
• Some s are not p ( o form)
EXAMPLE-----
A form -- All apples are red fruits.
E form-- No beetles are mammals.
I form-- Some Americans are conservatives.
O form -- Some apples are not red fruits.
Why is it important understand categorical logic?
Categorical proposition, in syllogistic or traditional logic , a proposition or statement, in which the predicate is without qualifications ,denied all part of the subject.
Categorical logic assumes that there are no empty categories . This is really only important for arguments that have an I or O sentence for a conclusion.
Important of our life-----
Categorical proposition is a traditional logic that is need for our personal and professional life. In this lesson we learn universal truth of our universe.
In categorical logic we learn a conclusion sentence.
