Describe three forces that will facilitate integration of high fidelity simulation technology in the 'Role of the BSN Nurse in Promoting Community Health" course.

I do not understand the question. This is for a graduate nursing course. I do not understand what it means by forces. Can someone clarify or answer this for me?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer: In this question, the forces mean the factors that lead to an increase in the use of high fidelity simulation technology for the BSN nurse in promoting community health. In this, you can answer like the need for realistic practice, improve critical thinking, improve communication with the patient, evaluation of the skill and knowledge.

1. Need for realistic practice

With the change in the curriculum and the development of many new technologies, the students need to learn more and improve their skills and knowledge during the student time before handling the patient. The students can not practice their skills and knowledge to the real person as there are high chances for the harm to the person. This leads to increased use of high fidelity technology. In this, they can practice improving their skills, knowledge, or techniques regarding the procedure used for the nursing student by giving realistic human physiology.

2. Improve the critical thinking of the student

With the help of the high fidelity technologies the teacher can set an emergency situation and see how the students will react and work of it to solve it. This will helps to increase the critical thinking of the student. This critical thinking capacity is very important because after completion of the course they are going to face any emergency situations of the patient where they need to use critical thinking to provide proper care.

3. Improve the communication of the patient

Some of the high fidelity simulations can even respond to the student's question. It is set through computer by the educator. This helps to practice how to communication skills with the patient and helps the students to communicate according to the situation of the patient.

4. Evaluation

The teacher can evaluate the skills and knowledge of the students before going to the community by creating a scenario in high fidelity technology. So helps to correct the students wrong things before practicing to the people.

I'm proposing a technology change for a hypothetical nursing curriculum. I'm proposing they integrate high-fidelity simulation into the curriculum. I've written the executive summary. However, I don't think I've added enough to really get the reader's attention. I spoke about the high turnover rate for new nurses in the first year, lack of clinical sites, limitations on what nursing students can do at clinical sites, poor interpersonal and interprofessional skills.
