Explain the links between the rights of the child (Convention on the Rights of the Child) and reducing under-5 child mortality, a target for SDG 3.

Answer: the rights of the children set out in United nations convention are the most accepted children's right in the world.

The rights includes right to health,right to education, right to have a family life, right to play and recreation, right to have a adequate standard of living to be protected from abuse and harm.

SDG( sustainable development goal) on 25th sep. 2015 united nations adopted a set of goal to end the poverty and protect the planet and ensuring prosperity to all.

The no 3 goals of SDG is

3. Good health and wellbeing

Causes of under 5 child mortality as per WHO are preterm birt complication , pneumonia, intraportum related complications which leads increased mortality rate , diarrhoea, congenital anomalies. 45% of under five deaths was during neonatal age.

Relations between SDG and under 5 mortality rate

Under SDG 3 it focuses on the mejor health issues like infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis B) , preventing unintended pregnancies, unintentional poisoning , non communicable diseases like diabetes and depression (postportum psychosis often become one of the big reason for malnutrion and death in the neonates), it also focuses on to control the adolescence pregnancy which is leading cause for both maternal and under 5 mortality in Southern asia and sub saharan africa.

Link with right of the children are as the right follows few principle which are a. non-discrimination and right to develop for their right to survival and development which means all the child have a equal right to experience all the possible benificial access to achive a healthy development and get potential for their life time. So indirectly it focuses on all the rights of the children.
