NRA Accomplishments
NRA is recognized as a gun advocacy society located in the United States. The group is charged with the duties of collecting and assessing custom duties, domestic taxes, and other revenues identified by the law (O'Neill & Kevin., 467). The group also enforces and administers laws regarding revenues. NRA has realized several achievements that involved the passing of constitutional-carry laws in the whole of America that mandated the citizens to own and carry firearms for personal protection in several states.
“Welfare state”
A welfare state represents a form of government in which nations promote and protect the social well-being and economic status of citizens. The protection is based on principles of equitable distribution of wealth, personal responsibility by citizens, and equal opportunities (Habibov et al., 58). The welfare of states was initiated in the 1930s during Great Depression by the United States.
Government and Business
The Great Depression was a period of the worst economic downfall in the history of the industrialized world between 1929 and 1939. The government had the sole role of ensuring alleviation substantially after the civil wars. President Hoover urged employers not to reduce wages; instead, funds were increased to in facilitating public projects. The businesses were also boosted through subsidiaries to enhance sustainability.
Republics and Democrats
Republican Party supported restricted government participation in making economic decisions while Democratic Party accepted that government involvement in economic regulation was essential (Bryson et al., 447). Additionally, Democratic Party advocated for state sovereignty while rejecting high tariffs and national banks. Republicans advocated for classical liberalism and economic reforms with aim of stabilizing national revenue.
Impacts of the Great Depression
The great depression had alleviated federal funding to enhance public works projects. The period also enhanced the protection of employees' rights by denying the reduction of wages (McGrattan & Ellen., 1531). The businesses were affected since the gross domestic product was reduced by 30% while industrial output between 1929 and 1933 declined to 47% and the unemployment rate became alarming by rising to 20%.
