Expert Solution

According to the article. In today’s age, hooking up is becoming the new trend but it has left us with unfulfilled desires, needs and sour experiences and even in some cases, trauma. This might be due it becoming a trend on the campus that you just have to do it, or to a point where even serious relationships were formed on a once hookup now turned serious hookup then turned commitment which is sad, to say the least. It may be experimentation in itself to get to know the person at a deeper level before becoming sexually involved with them from the start and therefore, the author writes that this has created a negative experience which everyone has gone through at one point in their life. This has left them with issues resulting from trusting another person and feeling comfortable with someone. Since hookups have become the biggest trend in the community, this has caused a decline in traditional courting rituals like dates, that allows a person to get to know another and has created a world with dissatisfaction. The author writes that to be able to take a step back from being sexually active can be an empowering experience for individuals and will let them have a clear mind about what they want to get out of their relationship.
