differences between hospice palliative care and end of life care
•The concepts are similar but not the same. Palliative does en compass end of life care, but it is so much more. Palliative care involves treatment of individuals who have a serious illness in which a cure or complete reversal of the disease and it's process is no longer possible.
• Hospice care - specialized care for the end of life. Most hospice clinicians are experts in palliative cre. patient has a terminal Or un treatable illness with fewer than 6 months to live in the normal course of the disease. Hospice care always provide palliative care but focus on end of life care. People who no longer seek treatment to cure their illness.
• Palliative care - it focus on relief of the pain, stress, and other debilitating symptoms of serious illness. Is not dependent on prognosis. Can be delivered at the same time curative therapy. No time limited on length of palliative care. Can go on for years.
