Nursing has been strongly influenced by several philosophical schools of thought including the received view, the perceived view, and postmodernism. Based on your readings, (2) which school(s) of thought do you believe best supports your practice in nursing? Provide a clear rationale to support your response.
In my practice of nursing , in the current scenario, I believe in working with the philosophical thought of perceived view. In the Received view ; I do not find any enthusiasm or progress in the career growth of this profession because it is only kind of following the same protocols which is to be blindly followed by the nurses irrespective of the knowledge we have studied or obtained. Similarly I do not believe nursing must be practiced in a postmodern environment as nursing basically involves like working passionately by rolling up your sleeves irrespective of whether we have done a doctoral degree and that we must be highly modernized in our post!
Perceived view purely involves on how an individual has the imaginary castle of working and carrying out orders in a unique style definitely prioritizing patients needs first. In this view I think we work with a passion that would cover at the end all the framework of nursing. For instance say administering medications which involves a complex and critical concentration to the least washing and changing a patients diapers with no difficulty and with no prescription required. These all care requires on the individuals perceived thought about nursing that enhances his/her personality and indeed to the professional growth.
