the novice nurse asks, "what is the difference between ethics and bioethics", the mentor differentiates by stating "bioethics:
a- is only concerned with the care rendered by nurses and physicians
b- focuses on economic issues of the cost of health care
c- resulted from advances in healthcare
d- is a much older concept than ethics
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ETHICS AND BIOETHICS:
1. ETHICS----
A. Ethics generally refers to the concept what is right and what is wrong . And also what is moral and what is immoral.
B. Example of the ethics are honesty, integrity,loyalty.
C. Medical ethics is narrow branches of morality that lays stress only on the specific are of human medicine.
D. Principle of respect for autonomy, principle of normal efficiency, principle of beneficence, principle of justice.
2. BIOETHICS---
A. Bioethics is defined as the philosophical study of the ethical controversies brought by advances of biology band medicine.
B. Example of topic areas that have been the focus of bioethics for a long time organ donation,transplantation , genetic research ,death and dying.
C. Bioethics is a branch of ethics that influences the philosophical of both technology and science.
D. Principle are autonomy define patient right to self determination, beneficence define physician centered decision, and justice.
