The main feature of the quantitative study is to utilize numbers to measure experimental or study/research variables for the example concepts, characteristics and things by conducting the numerous patient surveys, observations or through biophysical measures in the nursing. For the example: patient satisfaction survey, conducted by the health care professionals.

There are four different designs of quantitative research:

• Descriptive: it described the characteristics of the existing population which is selected for the study.
• Correlational: based on the comparison in the existing closely linked variables.
• Quasi-Experimental: it is based on the estimation of the overall causal impact of an planned intervention on the selected population without any random assignment of variables in the study.
• Experimental Research: it utilizes strict scientific designs, selecting the variables and focus on the set hypothesis of the experimental research.
