List three impacts of mining on the natural environment and describe how particular mining practices can lead to each of these impacts.
Ans.Impacts of mining on Natural environment: (1)Sand mining is the direct cause of Soil erosion.
(2).loss of Biodiversity.
(3).water pollution.
Explanation.1).Stripe mining.: It is a type of mining in which minerals are mined ,by first removing the long strip of overlaying soil and rock which is known as overburden. It is most commonly use to mine coal or lignite.stripe mining completely reshape the mountains, and evenly can remove them.erosion can lead to movement of heavy equipment lead to air pollution.
2).Subsurface mining:In this ttype of mining tunnels and shaft are dug deep underground and desired surface is removed.s urface mining leads to acid drainage from water that flows through the tunnel and merge into streams .unstable grounds creats sink holes.
3).Open pit mining;: It refers to a method of extracting rock or minerals ffrom the earth through their reroval from their opopen pit or borrow.Open pit mining completly destroys Ecosystems ,diminishes biodiversity, results in acid drainage and air pollution.
