Explain in brief the role of animal husbandry in human welfare.
Animal husbandry deals with the scientific organization of livestock, which includes a range of aspects like feeding, breeding, as well as control diseases so as to increase the populace of animal livestock. Animal husbandry more often than not includes animals such as cattle, sheep, poultry, and fish. They are valuable for humans in different ways. These animals are managed for the creation of commercially significant foodstuffs like milk, meat, wool, egg, honey and silk. The swell in human inhabitants has amplified the demand of these products. Consequently, it is essential to advance the management of livestock scientifically. Animal husbandry is of enormous significance in human welfare in the following ways: (i) Increased milk production with the help of cattle farming, production of eggs with the help poultry farming. (iii) Superior quality of meat through fish farming. (iv) Appropriate exploitation of animal wastes like making of biogas and manure from the dung of livestock animals. (v) Production of more honey and bee wax with the help bee keeping.
