Our nutrition and eating patterns are shaped by our perceptions of food; what we have learned to like and dislike, what we feel is healthful, and it is even formed by our family, cultural, and religious beliefs.
For this discussion, list five foods/liquids you like and five foods/liquids you don't like and/or avoid. For each you like, describe why you like them. For example, you might say I like to eat chocolate chip cookies because they remind me of my grandmother.
For the five you do not like to eat/avoid, explain why. For example, you might say I don't eat lima beans because they taste too mushy in my mouth or I don't drink milk because I am lactose intolerant, or I don't eat beef because of religious beliefs.
In addition to explaining why you don't like the five foods/liquids, also include what it would take (if possible) for you to overcome your dislike of the food/liquid.
Please make an initial post by midweek, and respond to at least two other student's posts with substantial details that demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and critical thinking. Remember that your posts must exhibit appropriate writing mechanics including using proper language, cordiality, and proper grammar and punctuation. Five Foods/Liquids I like most:
1. Spinach: spinach is a good source of dietary fiber and also contains anti-oxidants. so I included spinach in the most day of my meal which helps us to keep me healthier.
2. Potatoes: Potatoes are rich in dietary fiber, antioxidants, magnesium, and potassium. The low calorie helps to maintain my weight. Potatoes masala prepared by my mother makes more hunger and eager to eat. I also wish to take in the form of chips, fries, and baked form.
3. Orange juice: I like this drink because of the citrus taste. I like the fresh one rather than the frozen orange juice.
4. Oats: Another diet I take mostly is the oats. It is easy to prepare and makes me energetic and makes to work for a long time without appetite. It also helps to reduce my cholesterol levels.
5. Nuts: I like the almonds, peanuts, cashews, walnut etc. when watching the T.V, chitchatting with friends I usually chew the nuts always. In my childhood, my grandma gives a lot of nuts as it good for brain development. Later it becomes habituated and I can't live without nuts.
Five Foods/Liquids that I don't Like:
1. Pork: My religious Belief's not allowed to eat pork. I don't eat pork in any situations.
2. Egg Plant: I avoid eating of eggplant because it causes allergic reactions to me. If I am mistakenly taken along with any other foods I suffer a lot to overcome the side effects.
3. Sprouts: I don't like sprouts because of its smell. My mother forces me to eat because it has high nutritional facts. So I take cooked sprouts instead of raw sprouts or in the soup form.
4. Oysters: Usually I don't like oyster and my family members too don't like it. One day in a party, I just taste it as for my friend's willingness. After that, I felt nauseated throughout the day.
5. okra: I don't like okra because of the seeds inside it. If deep fried I try to taste it and not in any other form.
