What effective control systems does a health care organization have in place to ensure that different people with varying professional commitments and approaches are consistent with the organization's mission in a patient-centered environment?
There is need for the health care organization to create a conducive environment upon which the health care professionals works to ensure that the quality and safe health care is given to the patients. There are changes that are required to be made on the work design and the personnel's deployments .There is need for the establishments of the effective leadership that transform the personnel's practices ,beliefs and create a good culture for the patients care delivery. There is also the needs to develop the effective policies and practices that create the effective health care environment (Miettinen, & Korhonen,2012). To achieve the goals of the effective heath care system of the 21st century which are the health care improvements ,safety,timelness,equity ,effectiveness and the patient centered. The effective control system that have been introduced to improve on the change managements are outlines as. Workers involvements is one of the methods that can be used to counter any workers resistance to changes that are introduced in an organization. This involves creating the health care awareness to all professionals on the changes that are implemented. There is need for the workers in an environment to develop and sustaining the trust toward each other .This will make each individual to develop the confidence toward each other hence the competency in an organization increases which then leads to provision of high quality of care. Trust has an advantage in reduction of any resistance to change. The organization efforts in maintaining the appropriate balance in provision of the efficient and the reliable health care. This is through provision of the cost effective care that is easily affordable and at the required time .There is need for the trans formational leadership that are willing to manage the changes that occurs in an health care to achieve the organization mission.. There is also the need monitor the feedback in an health care and make the changes where necessary .This can be achieved through training ,communication and sharing the common values in an organization .There is also the need to create the active learning process in an organization through the training to update on the skills .
Effective control systems in health care organizations include:
1. The strategic planning process: This is important in hospitals because of the shift in the product mix, increase in the quantity and cost of new equipment. The annual budget preparation process is conventional. Huge quantities of information are available for the control of operating activities. Financial performance is analyzed by comparing actual revenues and expenses with budgets.
2. Inventory management system: This is a critical aspect of any hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility, as tracking the supply levels and use of even small items like masks, gloves, gauze and syringes is extremely important. Whether it's due to hoarding, theft, or simple inaccuracy, a faulty inventory tracking system can quickly derail a smooth operation and generate large waste, in both time and money.
