Women live longer than men today in the world. This may be due to certain factors like biological behavioral and envirnmental factors. How ever it is not understood that how exactly these factors contributes to life expectancy. The life expectancy is shown greater in females by an average of 6 to 8 years. New born girls life expectancy is higher compared to new born boys.

Among racial and ethnic groups increased life expectancy is shown by Hispanics(Cuban,Mexican, Puerto Rican, south or central American, Spanish) followed by non Hispanic whites(Anglo Americans) and then non Hispanic blacks.
