Expert Solution

Ans:Case1:Noah is a 2 year old who brought to the emergency department by his mother.

In emergency department, the nurse should check the some important parameters of the body,it include vital signs like Body Temperature,Pulse rate , Respiration rate ,Blood Pressure etc.

It find difficult when a emergency patient is a child whose age is almost 2 year old.Same situation occur in first case where a 2 year old child Noah started crying ,uncontrollably and pushing the device away from his ear when a nurse tried to check a tympanic temperature.

Tympanic temperature means a inner temperature of the ear which is generally measured by digital ear thermometers. The normal temperature is between 0.3°C to 0.6°C.

In such situation, nurse first tried to control the crying of the child either by giving a pain killer injection or by local anaesthetic injection.

Because it is very essential before giving any medication, all essential parameter of body is checked.

Normal paramter range of 2 year child are as follow.

Tympanic temperature:0.3°C to 0.6° C

Body temperature:100°F(37.8°C)

Pulse rate:80 to 130 beats per minute.

Blood Pressure:systolic -86 to 106 ,diastolic pressure-42 to 63.

Case2: Tomas is a middle aged man admitted to the hospital who suffered from transmission based infection and it should put in a private room.

It is true that more precaution should be taken while handling patient who suffering from transmit disease like Gonorrhea, corona, chlqmydia,Gential Herpes.

Following precaution should be taken by nurse while handling a infected patient.

First, nurse should wear a proper gloves, glown or personal protection kit while in contact with that particular patient. It make sure that in any circumstances,a nurse should not come in contact with patient without gloves or ppt kit.

After giving medicine to the infected person make sure that a gloves should be thrown in to a dustbin and may not taken that gloves in continuous used.

Make sure that no talk or very less talk with that infected person.

More precaution should include take immunity boosters tablet like vitamin C ,vitamin B and Zinc tablet etc.
