What is meant by attitude? What are the factors affecting attitude formation?

According to social psychologists Robert Warren and Dan (1980) attitudes are made up of three elements congnitive, emotional and behavioral. According to him attitudes work as a system of beliefs, feelings and behavioral tendencies related to persons, things, religion, group etc.
Factors affecting attitude formation:
1) Attitude formation takes place in our social environment. Different aspects of environment give shape of attitude development.
2) The way the family and parents influence the children,the same attitude are formed.
3) In addition to direct personal experience or experiences of daily life, specific events and circumstances of life are also important.
4) Contact with media is important in modern life, in attitude formation.
Attitude appear to be permanent over a particular period of time but they change with the passage of time.
