Before going to the actual answer,
let me explain in brief what Berne Convention is. Berne Convention
is an agreement which deals with the copyrights of literary and
artistic works. This convention was held in 1886 in Berne, the
capital of Switzerland.
Now coming to the actual answer, the duration of economic rights
that come with a copyright is: There is a time limit for economic
rights. The economic rights stay all through the life of the author
or the creator. In case of Berne Convention member countries, the
duration of copyright is 50 years after the creator’s/author’s
death. These rights differ in some nations. For example, in case of
European Union, Ghana and United States of America, the economic
rights are for 70 years. For majority of the countries it is 50
years.
In case of photographic work, the economic rights duration is 25
years from the year the work was done. In case of cinematographic
work, the minimum duration is 50 years after initial show.
