Expert Solution

Answer- Both password peotection and two factor authentication are security features that are enabled so that the privacy of data or information is maintained and no unauthorised user can access the data or information of any other user. Password protection is a protection where the user is asked for his username and password and if both of them are wntered correctly then the user can access the information or data. While in two factor authentication the user has to enter some personal information or personal identity detail that only the user has. Two factor authentication is also called multi layered security because apart from user name and password it uses another level of security for data protection.

Two factor authentication is better than password protection because:-

• Multiple layered protection- Apart from user name and password it uses another layer to protect the data of the user and thus the data which is secured by two factor authentication is much more secured than just password protection.

• Simplified login process- Even after multi layered security the login process is simple as the user can directly go to the single sign on feature and authenticate the MFA( multi factored authentication) and thus can easily login without any hassel.

• Reduces chances of cyber crime- Due to higher number of cyber crimes happening in the world more protection is needed, which can be obtained by two factor authentication. This helps in protecting the data from cyber crime and thus the data or information is secured.

• Secures from data theft - TFA secures the users data from getting stolen and further protects it from getting hacked by someone. It is now an essential part of the IT network and is now used everywhere where data security is of great importance.

• Productivity, efficiency & Reliability - Due to multi layered protection the data is secured and is thus considered reliable without any errors that may have occured if data was hacked. Use of MFA or TFA helps in increasing the employees edficieny and productivity as the login process is simplidied and much more secure.

• Low cost - It is not such thing which can only be used by big or large organisations. The cost of implementing such another security feature is very reasonable and thus every organisation can use it or implement it in their respective system.
