peer review please

I have never heard of Gardners theory until now and I believe everything he says. Yes, it may be a little broad and lacking of evidence but it's true. We don't have one intelligence. We can be intelligent in many different subjects. Not knowing a lot about something that disinterests you does not make you unintelligent. Intelligence should be broken down into different topics, interests and subjects. Breaking it down this way helps many people find the right career path in their futures. People shouldn't be classified by their IQ levels based on school subjects. I like to believe that everyone is intelligent in their own way, by their interests and what they comprehend and understand.

Solutions

Expert Solution

  1. Introduce Gardner’s theory briefly before stating your feelings about it.
  2. On what basis are you saying that it lacks evidence? If there a source or reference that supports your claim, mention it here.
  3. Do you think that a theory being ‘broad’ constitutes as a critique? Is it a bad thing?
  4. You mentioned that the theory states that we can be good in different schools subjects. That’s not exactly correct. The theory states something more along the lines that intelligence can manifest itself in several areas of interest, many of which are not captured by what is taught academically. Think of dancers, athletes, painters, public speakers, motivators, people who are highly self-aware etc. These were the kind of intelligences that Gardner spoke about.
  5. IQ is not based on subject scores. You may say that IQ is traditionally thought of as a singular score that measures only a limited aspect of intelligence, ignoring the range and multiplicity that it can be exhibited.

Hope this helps!

Peer rewiev Was Stanley Milgram’s Study of Obedience Unethical? I believe Milligram's study of obedience was unethical. Not only was it deceptive, the participants were pressured to continue and many of the teachers were under a great deal of stress because of it. I know that the experiment was on obedience but the BPS states that researchers are responsible to fully inform participants of their right to withdraw from the experiment at any time. The participants were allowed to withdraw,...
