The statement itself shows what it means when we are practice on something we should have the basic knowledge about the subject. For example, as a nurse, if we are going to treat a patient , we should know the basic things and the theories related to the problem. so we should have to know what the theories explains and how to apply it in the context.

Ideally , nursing theory should provide the principles...needed to validate it self through the production of its own... practise without an understanding of nursing theory . Because of the diverse nature of nursing and its lack of palpable, it is difficult to test or to provide a guide for the development of education.

The nursing theory, that underpin practice and help to generate further nursing knowledge. however, a lack of agreement in the proffessional literature on nursing theory confuses nurses and has caused many to dismiss nursing theory as irrelevent to practice. this article aims to identify why nursing theory is important in practice.
