Weight gain during pregnancy

The amount of weight you gain during pregnancy is important for your health and your baby health.

The weight gain during pregnancy is according to your BMI ( body mass index)

if the women BMI is less than 18.5 ( it is consider as under weight ) you should gain -12 kg to 18 kg

if the women BMI is between 18.5 to 24.9 ( it is considered as normal weight) the women should gain -11kg to 15 kg

if the women BMI is between 25 to 29.9 ( it is considered as over weight ) the women should gain - 6kg to 11 kg

if the women BMI is more than or equal to 30 ( it is considered as obesity ) the women should gain- 5 kg to 9 kg

Many womens experience rapid weight gain during their third trimester and less weight gain during first trimester due to morning sickness and other pregnancy related symptoms.

for example 56 kg weight women having 1.63 height her BMI is 56 kg/1.63x1.63 = 21 BMI score ,so she belongs to normal BMI she can gain a weight of 11kg to 15kg during her pregnancy
