What is normal behaviour?

Individual beaviour that conforms to the most commin behaviour in society.

What is abnormal behaviour ?

Behavioutr that deviates from what is expected and normal

We can use four dimensions to distinguish normal and abnormal behaviour.

1. Social adjustment - Violation of social norms

2. Over active and in attentive

3. Emotional adjustment - personal distress

4. Maladaptive behaviour

1. Social adjustment - Violation of social norms : Normal children will easily adjust with the society and follow the social norms where as abnormal children will get difficult to adjust with society and they violate all social norms. Abnormal childrens are easily angered, annoyed or irritated, they argues with adults, refuse to obey rules, they deliberatly try to annoy or aggravate others.

2. Over active and inattentive

Normal children are having required activity and attention where as abnormal children may have less or more than what required for the normal behaviour. Abnormal children usualy difficulty concentration, moving from one task to other with out completing anything. Talking over the top of other, Constant restlessness and fidgeting.

3. Emotional adjustment - Personal distress

Normal children will maintain emotional equalibriam in the face of internal and external pressure where as abnormal children are not able to manitain this. They will become unstable and act according to their will - Being aggressive to animals and other people or showing saditic behaviours including bullying and physical or sexual abuse.

4.Maladaptive behaviour

Normal children are adopted every day skills to achieve constructive out come. They possess social and practical competence to meet the demand of every day living. where as Abnormal childrens are lack of this type of skills. They directly or indirctly depend other to complete their daily task.Difficulty in eating, wearing shoes or clothes etc
