Based on your personal experience at work and/or at school, and secondary research on the topic, describe the best and the worst leader you know. Frame your discussion using Blake & Mouton’s Leadership Style Grid.
Robert Blake and Jane Mounton developed the leadership grid also called as marginal grid. They stated that the leadership styles can be identified on the basis of manager's concern for people and production.
In my experience the worst leader I know in school is our CR ( class representative), when I was in 9th standard. He follows the "Impoverished Management," from Blake and Mounton's leadership grid. That CR was worst because he never promote team management. there were some of his best friends, with whom he always do the work or activities and they never get others involved in the tasks. Even after their own group, that CR's concern for production was not good at all. I have already explained his concern for people, that were our class students in this case. The CR was never minded the personal needs of others.
In my experience, the best leader I know was the captain of our class in highschool. His name was John Mayer. He follows the strategy from Blake and Mounton's leadership grid is "Middle of the road". John with his style tried to keep a balance between the school goals and and the personal needs of the students. Whenever there was any function in highschool John distribute the work to everyone as per their skills. He never favoured someone just because they were his friends. He was truly the best leader I have seen in my life.
I hope this is helpful, thank you.
