What are the considerations that must be taken into account for patients with musculoskeletal conditions? How should you respond to patients who are in pain when they come into the office? Think about patients with musculoskeletal conditions who have been prescribed pain medications. What are some considerations with this and describe how narcotic dependence can be prevented
Musculoskelatal conditions of patients results in pain in joints,muscles and bones.There are different types of musculoskeletal problems,by which patients who suffer with it should be given proper treatment.The one who suffer from the pain and injury are often limited in movement and daily function.Some of the considerations are determining and evaluating their current symptoms like duration,frequency,intensity and how it is affecting their daily life,physical activities ,medical history,family history etc.When a person is in pain and comes to office ,the managers or their head of the department should understand their problems and if they are willing to take any leave or any other requirements should be done.If they are asking for any change in saeting arrangement or any other such preventive measures to be taken like sitting straight and maintaining a tall posture to prevent back pain,or picking up heavy files in office,using elevators instead of stairs etc.
Narcotic dependence can be prevented upto some extent by developing healthy life style habits,regular stregnthening exercises,for back and neck issues use the supportive waist bands and neck bands,doing physical and occupational therapy as recommended by physiotherapists etc.
