Barcode medication administration is a system designed to reduce errors in health care systems, it develop a software that will improve the safety of medication administration and increases accuracy in keeping the records.

Earlier in administration was done manually , and the change to Barcode System may lead to Reduction in costs , less errors , helps in keeping records of patients , helps in diagnosis and treatment easily.In the process of changing from manual to barcode medical administration there is lots of difficulties, complexities and problems that occurs.

PROBLEMS

a. CHANGE IN FORM OF WORK-

When Barcode System is implemented ,it causes many medical contingencies ,that must be managed to maintain to patients health and also it may lead to lack of co ordination , which is required to develop among nurses , physician etc. to adopt their system and adapt change in work.

b. DISRUPTION IN ARTICULATION WORK -

The Barcode System may lead to disruption in the articulation works , which was easy when implemented manually , but due to electronic clinical managing syst , the participants have to adapt new genre of communication.

c. DIFFICULTY IN TRAINING -

It becomes difficult for nurses , physician and other staff members to know how to implement such changes ,like maintaining records of each patients, how to give prescription etc.

SOLUTIONS-

a. Due to change in technology system from mannual to barcode system many problem occured .To overcome these problems ,the hospitals must take some measures-

b. Give training new staff on clinical system ,and other users.

c. Educating the staff , physician and nurses about change in technology.

d. 24/7 support in implementation and regular updates changes.

e. Working with project managers , hospital management and clinical staff to design implementation including detailed equipment training.

f. Initiating and participating in problem solutions for new system.
