List a "characteristic of life" & identify a eukaryotic cell structure that is involved. Describe what that structure does (how / why is this structure important for the characteristic you named?); and name a biological polymer that is a major component of this cell structure
According to the definition of "Life", It is the sum total of all biological activities in an organism to sustain its survival and the continuation of its species. On this basis, we can say that "Reproduction" is one of the most important characteristic of life as it ensures the continued existence of the species.
One of the eukaryotic cell structure that is involved in the process of reproduction is "Nucleus". It is the command center of the cell and contains the genetic blueprint of life that ensures that the information is passed from generation to generation by successfully maintaining the fidelity of cell replication by means of mitosis and meiosis. Also, it plays in important role in the day to day biological processes that constitutes "Life" in an organism. It is responsible for transcription of RNA from DNA after which RNA forms Proteins by means of translation thus propagating information for various cellular processes inside the cell.
DNA (Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid) is the biological polymer made up of repeated monomeric units of Nucleotides that is a major component of the Nucleus. It is responsible for carrying all the genetic information in an organism and propagating it through the next generation by means of mitosis and meiosis.
