The molecule NO2 can form both positive and negative singly-charged ions.
a. Write the Lewis structures for NO2 and the two ions, including any resonance structures. Note that NO2 has an odd number of electrons, which means that we can't follow all the rules in writing a Lewis structure. So write the Lewis structure that follows the rules in the best way possible.
b. For each species, explain whether it has a dipole moment.
c. Rank the N-O bonds in these three species from strongest to weakest, and explain your ranking.
