Explain in detail three out of the 12 policy trends in health care. Which policy trend do you expect will mostly likely have an immediate impact? As a future health care administrator, give thoughtful analysis as to why you believe this will happen.
The three policies that would most likely to have an immediate impact is Artificial inteligence ,mobile health and medication therapy management.
1.Artificial intelligence in healthcare:AI has been utilised to improve medical diagnosis.AI is now used in most of the countries in which one can detect suspicious lesions and nosules in lung cancer patients. This allows doctors to provide patients with early diagnosis as opposed to sending tissue samples to the lab for analysis. There are many advantages by using AI as it can be helpful and shows double impact in near future. Some of the advantages are EHR developers are now using AI to create more intuitive interfaces and automate some of the routine processes that consume so much of a users time,Ai can also improve productivity by identifying features of interest in slides before the human clinician reviews the data, inserting intelligence algorithms into these devices can reduce cognitive burden for physicians and patients receive care in a timely manner.
2.Mobile health:The key trend is the increasing use of mobile technologies as both younger and older generations enthusiastically want to use and access the information anytime or anywhere.Mobile technology improves healthcare by solving common problems. It will allow healthcare professional to communicate with patients reminders and decrease the number of missed appointments which leads to reduction in cost.Mobile health technologies improves healthcare which leads to lower costs for a patient for decline and readmission etc. This will not only expand the usage of technologies but also makes it easy for both healthcare industry and the patients.
3.Medication therapy management:Medication therapy management programs consistently improve medication adherence in patients. In this management a pharmacist can work with a patients physician to develop comprehensive program of drug therapy-perhaps eliminating or adding or switching medications. Some insurance plans but not all cover medication therapy management. This management helps in lower cost budget for patients and helpful in providing compensation in medication therapy.
