Which trend was the most significant in the lecture by Dominic Barton's "five trends reshaping the global economy"?
The trend which was most significant in the lecture by Dominic Barton who is the global managing director of Mckinsey where he worked for over 25 years across a range of industries and geographies, was that he believed we are living in historic times; over 200 to the 300-year time frame and the changing trends over time. In terms of scale and speed with which things are happening is unprecedented. Business opportunities and urbanization are complementary. There are challenges in terms of limited resources. The pace of industrial revolution has transformed the human history. Globalisation has grown the customer base across the world and global relationships with different countries have helped in emerging new growth trends. He discussed the impact of aging population and the importance of education to carry out services. The technological drift has led to stalement of many industries who could not adapt to new changes.
