I need a three sentence response for A and B. In your own words please. Your response can be an agree or disagree( why or why not) or if you want to add to the statement or if there are any question for the statement.
A)I do believe access to good health care should be available for everyone, but with that being said I don't think the answer is universal health care. For lower income families their needs to be better health care options or programs than there are right now. I do without a doubt think there needs to be a change when it comes to that. The United States offers Medicaid for lower income families and elderly which is health coverage for free or low costing medical services. There are still flaws throughout the system that need to be better to provide all people the care they deserve.
B)I believe access to health care, during emergencies, is a moral right. If access to health care was free to everyone, I believe that could lead to abuse of the right. Access to healthcare in the US is mediated by insurance coverage (Maruthappu, Ologunde, & Gunarajasingam, 2012). If people do not have medical insurance, they are either considered for government expenditure health programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). One does have to qualify to be in one of these programs. Otherwise, a person can pay the ‘out of pocket’ fee at a doctor’s office. When a person has to pay out of pocket, the doctor’s office will typically make a deal since they do not have to bill through insurance first. This is a price they have to pay since they do not pay for monthly insurance. During emergencies, a person can go to an emergency room for care. This is what an emergency room is for, they do not base care off of if the patient has insurance or not. Since the emergency room has to treat everyone the same, some people will abuse the system, and treat the ER as a primary care office. I do believe access to health care is a moral right, but I also believe paying your bill should follow since you did seek care. Just like going to a restaurant or mechanic, you pay for your food and services. Why should doctor visits be any different, we should pay for our services.
(1) I strongly agree with the first statement.
Healthcare for lower income family group needs to be checked and improved. The healthcare system, just like other bodies of the government, is corrupted in each level of it's management which is one factor which makes it less efficient. Above that the current plans and options does not make anything much easier for low income family groups. They still ends up losing much of theor money in healthcare especially for illnesses which is a long term ones and serious problems like diabetes, cancer etc.
This needs to be overlooked and better plans has to be made and corruption in the system needs to be reduces.
(2) I disagree with the statement.
Paying for doctor's subscription or for healthcare services the same way for everyone may seems to be an act of equality, but it is not equity. Several people are born in circumstances which makes them poor, amd making them pay for healthcare would be like stealing from a beggar's pocket. There is one more thing needs to be thought of, even if there are people who gets insurance when ill, and saves money, they are same as those who pay for healthcare because they are already paying for insurance and even when they aren't sure of contracting any kind of disease. And moreover poor needs to helped. Therefore, concessions are things which leads us to equity.
But it's right that some people corrupts the system, they misuse it, for that, the system needs to be changed in a way that no one can misuse it and ckose monitoring should be done to stop it from happening and also stop corruption. Implementing this in a perfect manner would decrease the way healthcare looks right now.
If it is made like let everyone pay for doctors, the poor will not have an opportunity to be looked after during emergency, all the attention will go to the people who pay more which is actually, capitalism. It should not happen, every lives values.
