Expert Solution

Sound waves coming from surrounding will collect the external ear pinna directed them into ear canal. Through ear canal they reach the ear drum. The ear drum passes these vibration into inner ear through three bones. (Malleus, stapes, and incus. ) In inner ear , there is fluid filled structure called choclea. Which receive the vibration from bones. choclea contains thousands of receptor cells (hair cells) . This hair cells passes the wave into brain inthe form of electric signal. Brain detect and identify the sound and pass the necessary information to another organs

Like all our lab exercises, the waves and sound lab will use a PhET simulator. Some of these simulators require you to enable Java or Flash. You can download and use the simulator on your desktop, or for some labs you can run it in your browser. Preferred browser settings and system requirements can be found at the “Running Sims” FAQ:  https://phet.colorado.edu/en/help-center/running-sims (Links to an external site.)
