New training nurse need to accept the rules already using in the ward by senior staff ,but it is ethical issue to following of wrong procedure that harm to patient. In this situation nurse can respond to senior in smooth way its not correct procedure, can I use some more time to push IV line with heparin, other wise let ask with senior what is the steps of procedure according to Ward rules and learn that to perform procedure.
Some one can respond to this situation by using ethical principles There are two ethical principles.1.Traditional principal. 2. Contemporary principle. 1. Traditional Principle.. There are two fundamental tenants of traditional approach to ethics. * Paternalism. That is role of father -the needs to protect some one from his or her own judgment. *Reparation -The obligation to repair any harm caused to others accidentally or on purpose.
2.Contemporary principle :In this autonomy, varacity (Truth telling), Non maleficence , beneficence ,confidentiality are the main key elements.
In given situation nurse can use contemporary principle of Non maleficence. This denotes to avoid harming patient and actively prevent harm when possible. Here patient had the right not to be harmed by the care providers. If the nursing action have the both a good and harm effect ,does the good effect over weight the bad ,then we can use that. We have to consider intentional good more desirable than avoiding the unintentional bad. And principal of beneficence also we can utilize that is providers actively contribute to the health and well being of the patient.
