Sherrie is a community services worker and the organisation she works for provides physical assistance to children living with a disability. As part of Sherrie’s role, she must comply with the ethical and legal requirements of her workplace. Since working for this organisation Sherrie has had to deal with several unresolved conflict situations, has observed breaches in standard procedures and been faced with complicated situations that required her to make ethical decisions regarding potential conflicts of interest. One of the major problems encountered by Sherrie (and the others with whom she works) is a lack of funding, which means that they are unable to do many things that they would like, to improve their workplace.

Issues that could prevent Sherrie and her friends from realizing their workplace rights and responsibilities:
Employees of a Healthcare firm or Organisation should aware about their workplace rights and responsibilities. The issues or reasons that may prevent the healthcare workers from realizing their workplace rights and responsibilities are:
* Lack of knowledge
* Ignorance
* lack of orientation and Staff development programmes.
Employees' Lack of knowledge about the workplace rights and responsibilities can be an issue in realising the importance of their rights and such employees may not be properly aware about their responsibilities also.
Ignorance may be another issue in realising the workplace rights and responsibilities. Employees should have a nature of Accountability to be not ignorant towards their workplace rights and responsibilities. One who values their rights will perform their responsibilities also well.
Lack of proper orientation programme to the staffs: A well arranged orientation programme, when the staffs are newly get appointed can help them to be aware about their responsibilities as well as there rights. Staff development programmes not only helps to update their knowledge related to new techniques and practices but also to remind them about their responsibilities and workplace rights.
2. Once Sherrie is aware about her workplace rights and responsibilities, she can respond appropriately to an issue that impact her rights and responsibilities.
Sherrie can do:
* Sherie has to have a well awareness about her Rights and responsibilities. She can take appropriate steps to solve the issue, if it is within the scope of her rights and responsibilities, if she is able. Open communication can help the situation greatly.
* She can discuss with her senior , in charge and can take a step to solve the issue.
3. Unresolved conflict in the workplace:
Sherrie can do the following things;
* Meet the people, who involved in the conflict and get a clear understanding about the situation.
* She can discuss with her in- charge or supervisor about the conflict and act immediately.
* Seek advice from the experts in the field and follow the ethical principles
* Document the following: the conflict, situation led to conflict and necessary steps has taken with the advice and the advice from whom and the consequences of the step, that has taken to solve the conflict.
