1. Vascular abdominal sounds are the physiologic murmurs arise from the abdominal aorta at the epigastrium and from the inferior vena cava.

Position the patient comfortably in the supine position as that of inspection

2. No. It is not a normal finding of abdominal assessment. Vascular sounds are the bruits resembling heart murmers. The Presence of vascular sounds indicative of occlusive arterial disease in the aortoiliac vessels. If bruits are present it will be heard over the aorta, renal arteries, iliac arteries and femoral arteries.

3. Peritoneal friction rub means that friction between roughened peritoneal surfaces. It is heard as creaking or grating noise during respiration.

4. The peritoneal friction rub occurs where the pleural layers are inflamed and lost their lubrication. It is indicative of pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, pleuritis. These sounds are occurs whenever the chest wall moves and appears on inspiration and expiration.
