Malcolm Baldridge Award it is the national quality award which recognizes U.S organizations in the business, health care, education, and nonprofit sectors for performance excellence. for both public and private sector in U.S given by the President of the United states and it is administered by the Baldrige performance Excellence Program, which is based at and managed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, an agency of the U.S Department of commerce, this Baldrige Excellence framework has 3 parts, they are the criteria for performance excellence and core values and concepts and scoring guidelines, and the framework serves 2 main purposes they are a) to help organizations assess their improvement efforts, diagnosis their overall perforamance management system, and identify their strengths and opportunities for improvement and b) to identify Baldrige Award recipients that will serve as role models for others organization.the framework and its criteria help strengthens U.S competitiveness by a) improving organizational performances practices, capabilities and results, b) facilitating comunication and sharing of information on best practices among U.S. organizations of all types, c) serving as a tool for understanding and managing performances and for guiding planning and opportunities for learning, the health care organization improve and provides exceptional care to every patient, every day, and also they performance in key measures of clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency, and to support delivery of exceptional care the organization persues the accreditations of the joint commissions, the centres for medicare and medicaid servicesand also national commission on quality assurance, the health care organizations adopt the and use the Baldrige Criteria to successful operations, management practices, and overall performances, to their patients. The joint commission:the joint commisssion has been a champion of patient safety by helping health care organization to improve the quality and safety of the care they provide the patient safety focused initiatives encourage and support organizations in their efforts to make patient safety a continuous priority. The national commission for quality assurance is an nonprofit organization that works to improve health care quality through the adminstration of evidence based standards, measures, programs and accrediation. The centres for Medicare and Medicaid:these are a federral agency within the U.S. department of health and human services that adminsters the Medicare program and works in patnership with state government to adminster Medicaid and it focus on quality improvement and partnership across governmental agencies and private industry and also it provides access to needed care and ensuring quality.
