What does "receiving and carrying" mean in law? Please provide an example of when a law was "received" and when a law was "carried"

Volntarily to take from another what is offered .A landroad ,For example ,could not be said receive the from his tenant when the latter left it at his house without his knowledge ,Unless by his acts afterwards ,He should be persumed to have given his consent

Carrying

Carrying means pursuing a particular occupation on a countinous and substational basis .there need not be a physical or visisble business entity

Example ; A business is carryinh timber business in last few years
