Efficacies of public versus private-based quality initiatives. Counter the effects.
PUBLIC VERSUS PRIVATE BASED QUALITY INITIATIVE:-it very
difficult to do an evaluation of the public versus private quality
initiatives because the reality is that they are the most powerful
when they work together.
-Through collaboration there is a chance in quality, because both
of these parties are forced to balance.
-The goal of both the private and public agencies is to improve the
quality safety of patient care.
(i) Public health care is usually provided by the government
through national healthcare systems.
-Private health care can be provided through “for profit” hospitals
and self employed practitioners, and “not for profit”
non-government providers.
(ii) higher prescription drug costs in the private sector for
clinical diagnoses.
-lower in public sectors for generic medication.
(iii) private sectors wants to prove it’s not necessarily the right
outcome. Where as the public sector is not necessarily looking out
options for better care, but reduced cost
