The vaccine adverse event reporting system is a national vaccine safety surveillance program co sponsored by the food and drug administration and the center for the diseases control and prevention. Main function of the VAERS is to detect possible signals of adverse events with vaccine. It collect and analyze information form the reports of adverse events that occurred after administration of licensed vaccine.It accept reports from the patient,parents, health care providers,pharmacist and vaccines manufacturer.
The goal of VARES is detect new,unusual,or rare adverse events that happen after vaccination. It is a passive system not collect any information actively just analyze the reports of adverse events.It won't contact any one of affected people.
A central repository is a collection of stored data from existing database merged into one so that it may be shared,analyzed or updated throughout an organization.
