Give an example of media coverage of a criminal investigation case which used a psychologist, psychiatrist, profiler or behavioral investigative advisor as an expert witness or who was part of the investigative team and summarise the case and role of the psychologist, or other professional, and discuss the extent to which you think s/he made a positive contribution to the investigation.

The example includes the role of criminals in the bombing of company Edison as one of its members dissatisfied with the working rules of the organization implanted a bomb in the building premises and also threatened other members of the organization to kill them with similar such series of bombings.The criminal was a male member of the company Edison in USA where he turns negative after many years of service as he felt that the company has misused his potential and misguided and misinterpretated him and exploited him in many situations ,so he turned into a criminal and warned the organization that he will destruct and destroy the company and further will malign the company profile in market leading to several loses in investment policies.Further many bombs exploded at the central station and central library leading to the loss of many lives in 1940 and during world war-II.

The psychiatrist responsible for the study of this case was Dr.James A .Brussel who analysed that the criminal was mentally disturbed suffering from anxiety and depression and lived in a socially isolated environemnt and suffered from hallucinations and hysteria in his room.

Another example is that of criminal Ted Bundy,who was convicted of murder. He developed a criminal bent of mind, and even had a strong social circle with lot of friends and wife.His wife also gave birth to a child when he was in prison.Robert Hare-PCL R is a diagnostic tool which helps in understanding the behavior and psychological analysis of the thinking perceptions of criminals and social depressed and morally depraved persons in society.
