DESCRIPTION ABOUT ILLNESS:

Invective endocarditis occurs when bacteria enter into the bloodstream and previously attached to the injured heart valves.

Acute endocarditis usually begin suddenly with fever, fast heart rate, rapid and extensive heart valve damage.

RISK FACTOR -----

People at highest risk of endocarditis who have

  • Artificial heart valve
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Heart valve disease

CAUSE ----

Endocarditis occur when bacteria enter blood stream and travel to heart and lodge on abnormal heart valves or damaged heart tissue.

SYMPTOMS----

  • Fevers
  • Chest pain
  • Weakness
  • Blood in urine
  • Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Cough
  • Nausea and vomiting

DIAGNOSIS----

  1. Firstly describe about symptoms
  2. Physical examination is done
  3. Check heart sound for murmur , it is present with infective endocarditis.
  4. Doctor may also check fever and feel for enlarged spleen by pressing on left upper abdomen.
  5. Complete blood count
  6. Echo cardiogram

TREATMENT----

Aqueous penicillin or ceftriaxone are used for infection causd by streptococci.

STEP TO PREPARE PATIENT FOR HOSPITALIZATION AND INTENSIVE CARE UNIT :

  1. Firstly those symptoms (fever,chest pain,weakness )is occur .patient is feel .
  2. Than come to doctor in hospital
  3. Patient describe symptoms to the doctor
  4. Doctor take a history and done physical examination.
  5. In physical examination doctor check heart sound and check murmur.
  6. Doctor advice to the patient for hospitalization.
  7. After admitted to the ward doctor visit to the patient.
  8. Doctor observe symptoms and done whole physical examination.
  9. After that doctor advice patient to done echo cardiogram.
  10. Than it is diagnosed acute endocarditis.
  11. When patient condition is worsend with acute endocarditis. ,require ventilation and life support or any cardiac surgery .
  12. Than patient transfer to the intensive care unit.
