When light pass through a prism it splits into seven colours together called colour spectrum , in which different colours comes out at different angles such that red at least and voilet at maximum angle .
When we place two prisms in such way that 2nd one is placed inverted with respect to other , and when light incident on it it comes out as white light .
When light incident on 1st one , voilet or say blue (as both have shorter wavelength) light diverges the most due to shorter wavelength and red least due to higher wavelength and vice versa happens for the inverted prism as red light passes through thick part of prism and blue on thinner part of prism.
The angle of deflection or say divergence is equal and opposite for both prisms.
Thev 2nd prism converges the light spectrum coming out of 1st prism and comes out of 2nd prism as white light as a emergent light.
