Solutions

Expert Solution

(a) Type of light
We know that the energy conservation is very crucial nowadays.
Therefore governmnet are taking initiatives to make energy efficient light.
For eg.
Initially we use Incandescent light which used to consume approximate 40 W of energy.
Then we invented the CFL which consume approximately 9 W of energy
Now we have invented LED whih consume only 6 W of energy.
These are following lights where we have decrease the use of energy by making it highly efficient.
(2) Polarization -
Basic meaning of the polarization is to seperate or segregate the similar things.
So when we apply this to light then we know that light is a electromagentic wave which have vibrations in all the directions.
So by the polarization we are going to restrict the vibrations in all direction except one for which we have made the polarizer.
(3)Dispersion - We know that the white light is made up of different colors of different wavelength.
The process of seperation of all these light of different wavelength is known as Dispersion.
(4) Critical angle- Critical angle is the incidence angle "i " at which the refraction angle "r" will be 90 degree ,when light travel from denser to rarer medium.
(5) Lens - A lens is a piece of glass and transmissive device whcih is used to concentrate or deviating the light.
