"Few people question the value of scientific inquiry, biology, and physiology in caregiver education programs. However, as you will see, some feel that they should be equally concerned about ethics and social skills."
To be a caregiver , he or she must help a patient in every possible way . They must be educated with basic biology and physiology as they are dealing with patient with injuries, illness or disability. By this means they have to be aware of the medication provided to the patient as well as food nutirents supplied are efficient or not and all sort of things that are implemented to the patient for its wellness are due effect or not. But at the same time ethics and social skills may play very important role . Suppose take an example of a person suffering from dementia he or she has to take medication and treatment to be be better, the caregiver is taking care of each and every thing for the patient. This help can be either in physically or mentally. Mentally supporting the patient for his or her well-being can lead to significant impact. The caregiver etiquette really matter during the period of treatment, whether they are friendly to the patient or not ,whether they are responsive or not etc.. Sometimes this good behaviour may lead the patient to have positivity in their mind, follow up their routine of medication, thus helping them in recovery. But in case of bad behaviour , the patient often might get scared or offended ,which might be an negative impact in his her mind, as a result they do not to follow up the medication routine . In all these, there is a margin of how much one should be close or be friendly to the patient. The caregivers are not their relatives so some people might feel offended if they invade their personal space. So a line should always be there while serving them.
