During the meeting, she indicates that her mother is the most important thing in her life, and then begins to describe her extensive recreational travel and multiple profitable real estate holdings. She is quite critical of her mother’s care and outlines a long list of nursing care that she expects to be performed by your staff, frequently emphasizing that she expects all expenses to be covered by her mother’s Medicare insurance. At the end of the meeting, she leaves her housekeeper’s phone number for staff to contact if there are questions regarding her mother’s care.

a. The pertinent data which can be gathered from the patient 's information are

• She has a daughter who is working (business ) which makes her to be travelling extensively.Ths main reason behind to stay alone with no visitors .

b. The patient daughter values two things

• Her mother should be all possible and best care because she is the important part of her life.
• At the same time though she earns adequately she doesn't want to spend a penny and wants all her care had to be covered I'm the medicare insurance

c. The ethical issues here are

• The mother who is elderly . more than medical treatment needs the care and compassion of her daughter to support her and be with her .So the daughter has to be educated on the beards of elderly population other than medical care.
• The daughters extreme concern wanting to discuss care with the nursing director is not required. This can be tackled by explaining the basic protocols and educating her about the treatment plan
• The daughter providing the housekeeper number than her number makes to feel she is less responsible and caring .This can be tackled by explaining to provide her contact number. So that in case of any emergency she can be contacted to make decisions on patient care.

d. The nurse can advocate on behalf of the patient by explaining and educating the daughter in regards to the care.
