Hierarchy of design in nurse fatigue:
Work_related stress is common for all the nurses..it is important to investigate the factors and their relationship to emotional exhaustion experienced by nurses..
Method:
There are 3_level hierarchy model measures design used to assess the 96 hospital ward nurses by smarrsphone programed with random alarm..stress,emotional status and fatigue in ward depend on changes occurs from every moment with their shift..eecological momentary evaluation shown that direct care tasks are the most stressing..momentary emotional state can be predicted by the appraisal of demand,efford,control and reward of the task performed and fatigue can be predicted by the control and reward appraisal of the task performed..
Hierarchy looks from bottom and how it related to the communication tools that nurse are given..nurses must have sufficient break time and also they need communication tools that enable them to connect and collaborate more efficiently..This communication tools can simplify and streamlines clinical workflows.. Equipping nurses with technologies is must because it can reduce their work stress.emotional exhaustion due to chronic stress related to work..
Hierarchy model result show that demand,effort and control can be depend on the task performed..The task appraised as most demanding effortful and controllable was direct care.. Reward appraisal depends on the task performed and personal variables that is emotional exhaustion for nurses..this situation can be resolved by rest and direct care..Momentary hedonic tone can be explained by the task performed,demand,reward,emotional exhaustion and by the interaction between emotional exhaustion and demand appraisal..so this momentary fatigue can be due to task performed,demand,reward are the emotional exhaustion..
This hierarchy design shows the importance of momentary measures to understand complex and changeable inter_relationship..it targets to provide intervention programs to prevent burnout and stress within the nursing profession.. emotional stress and exhaustion due to work place stress to high light their burnout..This burnout depends on the job demand and resources to other demand.it can fluctuate according to the situation..
Ecological momentary Assessment::
This technique evaluate participants behaviour and experience in environment and real time basis..it is completed with real time.. ecological momentary Assessment testing psychological theory to know the effectiveness..this result revealed the stress among individual nurse,age,gender,direct care task proportions whether they are paediatric or adult it all increase the momentary stress..
First hypothesis that higher emotional exhaustion with more demand,more effort,less control and less demand..this is due to stressful task for nurses.. secondary due to shift with demand and effort momentary appraisal,emotional exhaustion and it's interaction.this is due to hedonic job demand factors...thirdly fatigue reward with resources factors
Future research should find way for fatigue _resources..it can be facilitate recovery from work,coping..providing intervention program to prevent burnout in nurses...
