Role of genetics in psychiatric disorders ;
Some of the mental illness is caused by the combination of many genes plus in the environment.genetic information will permitpredictive screening for mental disorders.
Genetic variation affect the calcium movements in the brain. It leads to mental disorders.some of the disorders are autism, ADHD ,spectrum disorder , BIPOLAR, schizophrenia etc... are due to genetic variation in the brain cells.
Alteration in brain function to various disorder ;
In schizophrenia ;
It affect the thoughts , feelings , behaviour and cognitive of the patient
Decreased of CBF. altered in connectivity pattern
Defects in long term memory of the person
In depression. ;
It will affect the emotion , mood chances , perception , thoughts , and behaviour. It will affect the function of activity of nerve cell in our brain. Lack of brain derived neurotropic factor hormones
In autism;
Neurodevelopmental disorders characterised by impairment of social communication , restricted and repetitive behaviour.
In ADHD;
Brain is smaller than a normal children.adhd caused by impairment of frontal lobe. It will responsible for the attention , planning , concentration , etc.these are all affected to ADHD children.and also dopamine and norepinephrine take a major role in ADHD. Impairment of basal ganglia.it will control the function of emotion , voluntary movements,, and cognition....
These are some of the mental disorders brain alteration .
