define integrity as it relates to nursing. Can personal and professional integrity be separated? Why or why not?
Integrity means quality of being honest with strong moral
priniples..As a nurse we have to be kind,honest and ethical and not
doing any harm to our patients..These values provide the best
quality of care and good integrity practice..
Yes, personal and professional integrity having many different
contexts..in nursing some situation we are not practicing with
integrity..To provide nursing care with full integrity nurse to
become part of the patient's environment..Nurses skills,education
and caring help the patient to cross their illness while seeing
thepatient in their intirety..some theory shows important of
integrity among nurses and different aspects of integrity..
There are three components of integrity like
self,personal identity and moral..integrity is a complex set of
values having relational framework of values to communities and
individuals..value we can say as a importance..Value take us for
decision making,how to live our lives and shape of
consciousness,virtue is a moral
excellence,goodness,rightousness..
Integrity has different values,it will not fear the respect for
life,integrity,well-being..Personal integrity is a core values for
delivery ethical health care..compromise must in health care..when
moral complexity in the professional environment..it is important
that nurses must work with integrity to patients to promote optimal
nurse-patient relationship..integrity encompasses different aspects
of one's being because it is very difficult to seperate one aspect
of integrity..
Personal integrity while comprising another
type,professional integrity serve as areas of further
research..example:-in some situation nurses are out of work while
choosing the flu vaccine for them..But while seeing personal
integrity,they uphold their professional integrity by refusing the
vaccine and making the patient's at risk..
